LAS VEGAS – The Interactive Gaming Institute of Nevada (IGI) announced that it has joined forces with Global Gaming Expo (G2E) to present the Interactive Gaming Symposium on Friday, Sept. 20. As a result of this newly created alliance with G2E, IGI has cancelled what was scheduled to be its 2nd Annual Interactive Gaming Expo and Symposium next month.
“Rather than to continue to hold our own separate Interactive Gaming Conference and Expo, talking primarily to those who are already knowledgeable about remote gaming, we have concluded that it is better to join forces,” said Richard Fitzpatrick, CEO of IGI. “G2E does a tremendous job of bringing together the broad universe of those who have a stake in the expansion of licensed, regulated gaming.”
The Interactive Gaming Symposium at G2E, sponsored by Cooper, Perskie, April, Niedelman, Wagenheim and Levenson, Attorneys At Law (CPANW&L;), is a one-day, intensive program focusing on the issues affecting interactive and Internet gaming worldwide. Some of the topics include updates on the latest legislative and regulatory developments; interactive gaming content: building great products; interactive television: betting by remote control; player ID: biometrics; smart cards & other new technologies; and new gaming options: intranets, kiosks and wireless opportunities.
William Hornbuckle, president and COO of MGM MIRAGE Online, will kick off the symposium with a keynote speech on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 4 p.m. followed by a welcome reception. Hornbuckle will discuss the new interactive site MGM MIRAGE Online will be launching in the near future.
Also as part of the symposium, attendees can part take in the Internet Operations track in the G2E conference program Sept. 17-19. Some of the sessions in this track are “Accept or Reject: Prospects for Internet Gambling”; “Regulation and Control: How will the Internet Industry Respond?”; “Bricks and Clicks: How to Integrate Land-Based Dominoqq Pkv Gaming and Internet Gaming” and “Case Study: the Australian Internet Gaming Model”.
This is the second annual G2E, organized by the AGA in conjunction with Reed Exhibitions. More than 600 exhibitors are participating this year in G2E which also will feature more than 100 conference sessions on cutting-edge issues in the gaming industry.
The Interactive Gaming Institute of Nevada (IGI) is a not-for-profit organization based in Las Vegas, whose objective is to advance, enhance and expedite the implementation of new forms of interactive, remote gaming. IGI is the primary, credible advocate and resource that provides information and assistance to businesses and governments exploring this new opportunity.
G2E is the only international gaming trade show and conference “by the industry and for the industry.” Organized by the American Gaming Association (AGA) and Reed Exhibitions, G2E made its debut in fall 2001, defining itself as the pre-eminent show for the gaming-entertainment industry.
The AGA represents the commercial casino-entertainment industry by addressing federal legislative and regulatory issues. The association also serves as a clearinghouse for information, develops educational and advocacy programs, and provides leadership on industry-related issues of public concern.
Reed Exhibitions is a world leader in creating high profile, targeted industry events where buyers and suppliers come together to do business. Every year, Reed events bring together some 160,000 suppliers and over nine million buyers from around the world. Today, Reed events are held in 35 countries throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia/Pacific, and are organized by 30 fully staffed offices. Reed’s portfolio of 470 events services 49 industries in 12 key sectors.
